'The Day,' Collage

I've been making collages to decorate my dorm room with; this is the fourth, and I admit myself very pleased with it. Th epieces have been collecting for some time, and I'm very glad how they came together. I don't build them with a specific theme in mind - I prefer to keep their various connections unsaid - but this one, as I made it, reminded me strongly of the poem by Clive Barker quoted above, a poem which I love very much. There's a second verse, too, but no collage to accompany it.

Images taken from - well, all over the place! From the program of Spring Awakening at the Ahmanson Theater, that's the leaping boys and Carmen and Minskey's, an ad for AT&T provides the hands painted to resemble Moscow, the girl photographer comes from a film magazine, the ladder comes from a program from the Getty, and the rest is from the Metropolitan Museum of Art catalogue, which is one of the best sources for collages ever.
