Colors of Magic

Life magic, Death magic, and more Death magic.

This drawing is my Christmas present to three webcomic artists whose work I deeply admire and enjoy profusely.

From left to right, top row...

Angora is from The (heartbreakingly beautiful and brilliantly written) Meek ([link]) by `alexds1 ([link]).

Hanna (who is a boy) hails from Hanna Is Not A Boy's Name ([link]), and you can find him on devArt lurking around *vert-is-ninja ([link]). Fun fact: the rune on his hand is supposed to mean 'Spirit,' of which Hanna has a lot!

Miranda, last but not least, is the main character of Memento Mori ([link]) by ~pooryorick ([link]). Hasn't updated in a very long time, but I still enjoy it, and having met ~pooryorick this summer (she's so nice!) I wanted to remember her this holiday season.

Bottom row: Tobin, from 'Memento,' is a ghost. {...}, from 'Hanna,' is a zombie. And Pinter, from 'Meek,' is really confused right now.

Drawing notes: I think it's some of my best color work to date. My favorite overall is probably Hanna. I really regret my coloring of Angora's hair, and recognize that her magic (probably) doesn't give a gentle yellow glow. And only after coloring did I realize that all of Miranda's magic circles appear on the palm of her hand, rendering my drawing inaccurate.
I... also didn't use references for Miranda or Tobin, resulting in Tobin's hair looking unnaturally perky, and dolling him up in my standard "Old Fashioned Menswear" garb. But overall, I still like this piece.
