I know it's been forever. This blog was not meant for regular updates.
I go back to school in a week, and start classes a couple of days after that. I think I've been hit hard by the End-Of-Summer Blues.
While I was in Paris this spring, a leak sprang in my bedroom ceiling. No one in my family noticed. It sprang right over I kept years' worth of drawings stored up, sweet innocent unprotected paper. You can see where this is going.
Naturally, I was a bit upset when I came home and discovered this.
I've left the papers just sit there all summer long. Today my project (among others) was to go through those papers once and for all.
Now, I am a massive pack rat. I've tried clearing out my collection of drawings before, but everything had the default state of "valuable and worth keeping," with the "throw-away" pile being exceptions. This time though, I was in the mind of "Almost everything must be thrown away. Only a few things are worth keeping."
... Well, I kept more than a few things, but definitely over half of the papers got put in the recycling bin today. It's pretty sad stuff. One of my favorite pencil drawings has been absolutely ruined... I'm only keeping it because I hope I may be able to redraw it. The original sheet of paper for this drawing ([link]) has been mucked up horrifically (although, amusingly, Angora's hair actually looks much better.)

So that's why I feel a bit emotionally fragile tonight, and ready to curl up with some Les Miserables and cry my eyes out... not that I will...
